How much should React Developers earn?
React Developer salaries broken down by experience, seniority, and position salary listings. Taken from the Insights Library on cord.
The average React Developer salary is £60,047, based on expected salaries of 1,868 Developers looking for UK-based work on cord in 2021. The average salary range of Mid-Senior level React Developer positions in the UK is £45,062-£77,153. These insights break down the details of the salary expectations of React Developers by years of experience and seniority, as well as the salaries listed on 576 React Developer positions at different seniority levels.
Up to 12 years’ experience, React Developer salaries increase at an average of £3,990 per year from £34,268 to £82,143. Above 12 years’ experience, they level out, and don’t tend to significantly exceed £82,000 on average. This suggests that, at 12 years or more in, years’ experience is no longer the most decisive factor in a React Developer’s salary expectations, and that they may need to change jobs (into, for example, architecture or management) in order to increase their earning potential above this level.
On average, UK-based React Developers expect the following salaries:
- Entry-level: £33,270
- Junior: £37,724
- Mid: £54,113
- Senior: £76,825
- Lead: £86,944
As above, React Developers who become Lead level (i.e., middle managers) can expect to earn more than even the most experienced Senior React Developers who remain in fully hands-on roles.
Salary ranges of React Developer positions
Positions on cord are posted with a minimum salary level and a maximum salary level. The graph below shows the average values of these ranges, as well as the average mid-point. Average ranges are large for several reasons, including that definitions of seniorities vary across companies, and that positions can be posted with multiple seniorities (but only one salary range).
Among 576 UK-based React Developer positions, the average mid point of salaries listed were as follows:
- Entry-level: £39,250
- Junior: £46,903
- Mid: £56,017
- Senior: £64,952
- Lead: £73,538
Based on the expectations data above, React Developers tend to expect salaries within the mid-point ranges at Entry, Junior and Mid level, but at Senior and Lead level they tend to expect salaries in line with the upper salary limits. In fact, Lead React Developers expect, on average, slightly over the maximum level that companies are willing to pay.
